Downsides

I bought the myFICO quarterly monitoring product and according to my TU score I am 759. I am pleased with that score, but, it said I have a couple of downsides. One being the length of credit history. The oldest account I have is 6 years old. The average age of my credit is 3 years. I got a auto loan through a credit union in October, if I paid that off now how would that affect my score/length of history? As mentioned in previous posts, I do have student loans I pay on, which are much older accounts than the recent auto loan. The other downside says "Not using credit". I have one credit card that I use monthly and pay off monthly as well, I never carry a balance. At the same time it says an upside to my history is that I show recent use of credit cards. What gives? Thanks! P

About all you can do is get older I am afraid!  Nothing will make the loans any older, and 760 is a very good score
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Downsides

For your CC pay all but say 10 dollars or so off BEFORE you get your statement and let that report. If you really only have on credit card consider getting one more and alternate using them.

Paying off your car loan will not change your credit age, it'll still be on your credit reports contributing toward age.

759 is a great score though!!!
