EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

A quick search of these boards didn't show me anything but please let me know if this has already been discussed (and link, please!).

I get my credit reports directly from the three companies by mail, so I know exactly what it is on those credit reports.  I buy my credit scores from MYFICO.  The scores come with a free credit report, so I usually verify those credit reports against the credit report that I already have directly from that credit reporting agency.

The issue is that Equifax's and Experian's reports show that two of my KHESLC accounts (private education loans) became collection accounts in April or May 2007.  TransUnion's report correctly shows that these accounts became collection accounts in October 2006, and shows that the accounts closed in October 2006.  So that's the first problem.  EQ and EX have "verified" this info despite documentation from the collection company about the timing of their involvement.  Currently working with KHESLC for documentation from them to correct with EQ and EX.

The bigger problem, and the one that I raise with the forum, is that the same two accounts show up on my MYFICO EQ and MYFICO EX credit reports as late payments in April or May 2007.  This is lowering my credit score as a "recent late payment."  Since the accounts weren't even with KHESLC at all in 2007, this is making me crazy.  MYFICO says that they're just reporting the information from EQ and EX, and so it's EQ's & EX's fault.  EQ and EX say that they are not reporting late payments to MYFICO, and that MYFICO's computers don't understand what the EQ and EX computers are sending, so it's MYFICO's fault.

Regardless of the baseline incorrect information coming from KHESLC (which I hope can be fixed with my latest fax & certified letter), how do I get EX & EQ to talk with MYFICO???

Re: EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

I'm going through the same thing..no lates reporting on an account yet the myfico "reasons for low score" states i am currently late and missing payments..lates/now new charge off from Feb on a charged off account (Charged off in 2004!) all because I disputed it!

I called myfico they said they would send it to the tech department and they would call me..they never called..
I called again same thing still waiting for a call back....lol
Actually it was funny how little the rep knew ..he tried looking at my other credit reports and said i have lates on there,i told them were wrong  and they were totally irrelevant to how my Transunion one was.....fact is Transunion reported not one late and so I couldn't dispute lates with them that weren't even there!

my fico customer service sucks!!
This is a glitch that seems to happen all the time yet myfico doesn't care..I still haven't ever seen anyone post who actually had myfico fix it!
It seems to happen when you dispute something and it gives myfico a date.

Re: EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

This is horrible for both of you but I wouldn't blame it squarely on either side. The CRA computer people should know what codes FICO accepts and what it won't recognize before they code your case in a particular way. I would continue to work both sides on this issue. Don't give up, persistence seems to be what pays off the most in credit affairs!

Re: EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

My revolving debt is reported entirely too high.  I have been systematically paying credit cards off, yet it hasn't updated in months.  It's frustrating to work so hard to raise your score, yet see no progress.

Welcome to the FICO Forums, fixmyscore.

Are you aware that the scores and reports you purchase from myFICO are one-time pulls that do not update automatically?  You need to purchase additional reports if you want to see updated information.

Re: EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

I've purchased updates from all three reporting agencies.  At one point I found one credit card reported my balance twice.  I called them and got that straightened out, and as I said before, I'm paying down my debt at an aggressive rate.  I've sent letters to Trans Union and Equifax and gone online to dispute reported balance errors for Experian.  So far, I've had no luck.  The revolving credit balances haven't changed.

Re: EQ & EX reporting incorrectly to MYFICO

So the update is that I called MYFICO and persisted long enough that I was "escalated" and two "tickets" have been generated.  For EQ, the latest score was purchased just last week, but my last EX score was purchased last November.  The supervisor explained that he couldn't address the EX problems because it was an outdated report, and my response was basically "so you want me to spend another $15 so that you can generate an error report?"  Thrilled to report that his response was to give me a code for a complimentary EX report so that I could see if the problem still existed.  It does, and when I called him back with the news, he generated the second "ticket."

Now I guess I'm just in wait-and-see mode to see what MYFICO comes back with anything beyond what CRASMAKEMEPUKE got!

I am really just floored that both everyone acknowledges the problem, but blame the other party!  This must happen all the time, so I just can't believe they don't have a protocol for fixing it!
