EQ score stuck?

Re: EQ score stuck?

Right. No Change. On the November report it said that the ratio was 0%, but the total balance of revolving accounts was $6,298. How is that possible? In the January report, it said 3% ratio but the total balance of revolving accounts was $3,871. So the balance was less, but the ratio shows as higher. The only other change I can see is that three inactive old accounts dropped off (Sears & 2 Citibank) as well as the Macy's Visa which was replaced by a Macy's AmEx. I didn't think inactive accounts factored into utility. Am I wrong?

Re: EQ score stuck?

Oh, and if I compare the cards that are reporting the balances that add up to the utility, it is the same cards from one month to the next (Chase United & AAdvantage) with the exception of two new small balances added ($22 & $82) on a Home Depot & Macy's AmEx.

Re: EQ score stuck?

And I just noticed one other thing. I'm not sure if it is having any effect. The Chase card is showing up twice on all the reports. I think one account was closed after the card was lost and replaced with another card so this is an error. That card is showing an $863 balance that has not changed over the past 9 months. The largest past balance was 17k.  Could that be hurting?

Re: EQ score stuck?

I feel you.  From April 2010 - Dec 2010, EQ was non responsive for me.  It didn't matter what I did.  I have 2 cc's.  If I PIF, nothing.  Left a small balance on one, nothing. Left a small balance on both, nothing. It seemed as if EQ had left the building with Elvis.

Until...

I made an oopsie in mid Dec 2010 and forgot to pay down a balance before it reported.  I didn't miss a payment, just forgot to pay it down to a nice 4% utilization rate.  Lo and Behold, that seemed to stir some life deep in the bowels of EQ and it passed a little gas. I was shocked. Mind you, my score took an 11 pt. hit, and boy did that stink.  However, it did kick me out of the cursed 666 score I previously had.  Imagine being stuck with 666 for 9 months! Anyway, I resolved not to let that happen again, and the next month I was back on track.  However, when EQ rebounded, it didn't go back to 666, but surpassed it by one little number...667!  It was like a giant piece of broccoli had been dislodged from the foul smelling Ogre's tooth, because 3 weeks after that, it went up again, this time to 678.

Don't ask me why...

I have a feeling this probably doesn't help you.

I do feel your frustration though, and can sympathize!

Peace,

Vik
