Effect of 90 day late

Relatively new, been rebuilding for the past year.......been able to feet some good credit cards as well as getting more denials than I would have liked.  I've been overlooking a single 90 day late on some closed accounts thinking that after 3 years it wouldn't matter much, but read somewhere earlier this week that a 90 day late is as bad as having a collection account.  Could this item account for my EQ Fico being 665 whereas my TU is 740, and my Ex is 729?  Should I work hard to get this off of my EQ report, it is not reported on TU and Ex......or should I just let it ride?  Any and all insight/experiences I are appreciated.

Re: Effect of 90 day late

A 90 day late is a major derogatory, comprable to a CO or collections.  They do lose some punch as they age but will impact your score for the entire 7 years they report.

The higher your scores and less drogatories you have the more impact it will have.  So, yes, getting that removed would be extremely beneficial to your score if that is the only major derogatory you have.
