Effect of double-inquiry

I applied for a credit card at my local credit union last summer.  I just noticed that there are two inquiries showing up for them on the same day on my TU report.   How much of an effect would this have on my score?  I can't imagine that it would be too much--especially since it is from last August.  However, my TU score is lagging 50 points my EQ and EX and the only real difference between them is that my TU has a lot more inquiries listedthe EQ and EX, so I would like to see about getting those inquiries cleaned up if there are any that shouldn't be there.  Obviously, the credit union had a permissible purpose to pull my score, but not to pull it TWICE.

FICO will deduplicate these, since they are from the same creditor.  The extra inquiry isn't affecting your score one bit.

Note, however, that inquiries affect your score for one year, and they carry the full weight during that time.  So regarding your statement, "I can't imagine that it would be too much-- especially since it is from last August," it wouldn't matter if it were from last August or from just yesterday.  It will be scored the same until it stops scoring at all once it reaches its first anniversary.

Also, the CU probably did have PP to pull two inquiries: one for joining, and one for the CC application.

Re: Effect of double-inquiry

Inquiries don't have a significant effect on your score.

LOTS of inquiries can have a significant effect, but as you're not in "lots of" territory, don't worry about it.
