Effect on Score having CO deleted

What kind of score change can I expect to see when a charged off account gets removed from my CR?  It was a charge off in 2002.
TU 673 EX (720 Credit score) EQ 690 (08/2009)
TU 698 EQ 697 EX ?? (07/2010)

COs are pretty bad...no one can pinpoint exactly how many points you will see...because it may hurt you more...but getting it removed...because you will lose the history...every situation is different...all you can do is hope for the best...so...GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Effect on Score having CO deleted

Having a CO removed from your reports is definitely a "YMMV" thing when it comes to FICO scoring.

Some people actually lose points because their average age of accounts dropped.  My experience was the opposite.  I had a CO removed from Ex and Tu this morning and my scores jumped by 80 pts on Ex and 25 pts on Tu!  Unfortunately, it's still reporting on Eq.  (grrrrr!!)

At any rate, I would rather have a clean report with a lower score than a report with derogs and a higher score.  Good luck!

The only baddie on my report was a 6.75 year old Collection - +50 points went it aged off

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
