Equifax FAKO/ FICO

Please help me understand the difference since I just realized that equifax.com now have different options when buying credit score. In the past, I believe, it was always real FICO you could purchase at equifax.com. Now, and I don't know since when, they have two credit score product prices. Is it safe to say that the score at equifax.com that cost:

$15.95 is a FAKO and the one that cost:

$19.95 is real FICO

If that is the case I don't think that I will ever buy from equifax.com again since it looks like they are trying to sneak in and sell to consumers something that is completelly irrelevant, useless and outdated. Also is there any chance that we will be able to buy Experian FICO on this website ever again ??? Opinions please and thanks !!!

Re: Equifax FAKO/ FICO

I'd just use the EQ FICO link on this site.

I fell for it a few months ago and purchased the Equifax Credit Score instead of the Equifax FICO score. BLEH.

You want the Equifax FICO score.

Probably not the correct Forum for this post.........

You can purchase your EQ FICO from EQ's website, but it's hard to find, as they bury it deeply, hoping that people will purchase their FAKO scores, I have never purchased a score from EQ so I don't know the prices for their different scores.

If you want your EQ FICO without having to question weather it's a real FICO, I suggest purchasing your EQ FICO score and report here at myFICO for 19.95.

I could not tell you if myFICO will ever have the EX FICO and report in the future, I guess that's up to EX to decide weather or not they want to offer their FICO's to consumers ever again.

Re: Equifax FAKO/ FICO

It looks like EQ and TU are trying really hard to confuse consumers and make us buy it from them instead of buying from this website.

What will happen if EQ and TU also discontinue FICO to consumers on this website ? We will be in dark ?

I do buy it here too, but I saw the $15.95 price on EQ for the credit score and without thinking too much I purchased it just to realize few minutes later this is a freaking FAKO. They've got me this time.

Re: Equifax FAKO/ FICO

Okay, so I went ahead and purchased it here on this website too and the difference is huge:

770 EQ FAKO

791 EQ FICO

I would have to disagree.

If a FAKO is within 100 points in either direction of a real FICO score then that is reasonably close. I wouldn't expect any more accuracy than that.

Wow!!!

Those are SUPER scores, Very Nice.

I agree with Greg, that is really not a tremendous difference, I've read members reporting their FAKO's being 75+ points higher or lower than their actual FICO's, but still, there's no substitution for your real FICO's.

I would never recommend for someone to purchase a FAKO to try to get an idea of what their FICO score really is.

Again, Congratulations on those Super scores.
