Re: Equifax Fico 8 score drop

I just checked the app, and it's updated. Something's not right. Me thinks, I'll know more in a couple of days.

Re: Equifax Fico 8 score drop

Wait a minute let me understand you correctly. You checked earlier and it wasn’t there and you checked again and now it is?

So it did not update when you logged in earlier, but it updated when you logged in now?

Let me start all over. Sorry for the confusion in advance.

I have 2 Citi Credit Cards(Citi DC opened late 1/2020 and Citi AAd opened early 2/2020)

On Friday afternoon, 8/7, I called Citi CS and asked if enough time has passed where I could get a CLI sans a HP. She informed me yes. On the Citi app, I requested an increase on the DC and I was instantly approved for en extra $1500. Several minutes later, I did the same for the AAD, but was not approved instantly like the DC. It wasn't until this morning that I noticed on the myFico website that my Equifax Fico 8 score dropped 4 points. The only thing it mentioned was the outstanding balance on my DC went from $6 to $0. I was a bit taken aback by this. Later in the morning I notice the Transunion Fico 8 score actually went up 6 points on the myFico website. Fast forward to this afternoon, I received an email from Citi AAD saying I was denied the increase for "too many recent inquiries". I called Citi Credit limit increase department, and he told me the rep from Friday should have never told me that the AAD was going to be a SP because it wasn't quite the 6 month anniversay. The fact that I requested the CLI before the 6 month anniversary, triggered the HP. I wasn't happy. On top of this, no warning from Credit Karma or myFico regarding the Equifax HP. If had waited until tomorrow for the CLI for the AAD, I wouldn't be in this pickle. Lesson learned.

Check your  credit report at annualcreditreport.com. I seriously doubt that you got a HP.

For future reference, Citi's website makes it easy to determine if a CLI request will be soft pull or hard pull. It tells you. Just go to the CLI request link. If it says a credit report will be pulled, it will. If it tells you a credit report will not be pulled, it won't.

Due to covid you can currently pull your report once a week.

Hmmm. Since I requested the CLI on Friday 8/7, when do you think I should pull it?
