Equifax and updating headaches

Can't seem to figure out why EQ updates one of my Cap1 cards and not the other. The only way I can ever get them to update it is with a dispute.  TU and EX are not having this problem, why can't EQ figure it out???

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

Are you sure that it is a entry problem with the CRA, and not a reporting issue with the creditor?

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

I've called the CC companies, they are both reporting correctly to all 3 bureaus.  This has been going on since EQ supposedly merged my file after it had supposedly been split. I've called EQ on it and they can't seem to figure it out, either.

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

EQ seems to be lagging a bit.  My DH was working to have dispute comments and the OC actually called both TU and EQ (only ones reporting the dispute comment) and instructed them to remove the dispute comment.  This was last monday I think, TU was updated by Wednesday and EQ, as of today, is still reporting the dispute comment.

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

EQ is the worst.  I have a collection that is reporting on EQ only and was supposed to be removed at the end of January, according to the CA.  I filed a dispute, received a letter from the CA and faxed in, and STILL nothing.  Even when I tell them I've talked to the CA, and faxed in the letter, EQ tells me they haven't received any responses or update from them and have to wait the full 30 days for the dispute before they take action.  VERY frustrating!

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

I have had the same issue with EQ, they had me open 3 disputes on the same account when myself and the creditor had sent them the corrected info.

EQ had stated the creditor put a 90 day update freeze on the account, so they couldn't touch it until they processed a "lift/unfreeze"

The creditor had stated that EQ was incorrect, I had to call the creditor everyday to push the issue, finally I was able to involved the manager and it was updated, only took 6 months!

Such a huge error and fustrating I know...

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

So glad I'm not the only one! I got the results of a dispute from them on May 7th and they clearly state that 3 accounts will be deleted and they have yet to do so. What I don't get is how I have it in writing that they will be deleting and it's not done, it's not like a CA told me and then you have to wait on the result. TU and EX have both updated correctly.

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

Dealing with a similar issue. Just figured out my EQ file is split: One report has 2 inquiries and all the paid/closed student loans reporting correctly. It's semi-evil twin has 0 inquiries and 2 student loans "open, paid as agreed".

It's a really thick file (Sallie Mae) but I don't know if having those loans report correctly is worth adding inquiries, LOL!

Re: Equifax and updating headaches

I too have two Cap1 cards and both of mine are not reporting at all, for the last 2 years.

I finally called Cap1 and asked them to see if they could report and they said they would open a dispute with EQ... That was last week, so we'll see what happens.
