The one reason given was: Installment Balance. The only installment loan I had for the past 20 years is this car. Normally, I pay cash for cars. This car loan would have been PIF at least three years ago, but luckily I found the Forums.

Where did you get your score from?
I've never heard of anyone with fewer than 3 reason codes if they got them at all on any algorithm and usually you have to be in one of the less than pretty scorecards to get that.
Will also state it's not the installment loan balance that's keeping your scores 100 points apart. What were the explicit scores since I didn't see them listed?
The score was from Experian. Experian is also my second highest score at 786. My TU is about 773 and Equifax is 808. All this week.
There was a time when my electric/gas bill used to report as "other" loan type. It stopped reporting 12/2015. Doesn't even show on my CR. I must also add, I never saw this score type before. Never cared. I am not buying another house. I just thought it was odd. And a bit low.

I hate to say pics or it didn't happen but Experian gives full reason codes for FICO 2 and I'd like to see a screenshot from that showing you only have one which is honestly not statistically likely.
Vis a vis this:
I agree that an upper 700's FICO score should generate more than 1 negative reason statement as to what's hindering that score.
I would gladly attach a screen shot if I knew how. I haven't changed my Garden pix or added my signature though I have tried on several occasions. It just doesn't seem to work for me. I have a decent signature. 19 cards, a total CL of over $170K (one CRA has it over $183K. It shows a card I had replaced as open. No balance. No activity.), good scores, decent cards, gardening since November and I only am showing the one month garden tool. Not sure how I managed to get that to show. I know what I saw. I know the score presented to me. I know it was the Experian site. I know I never saw this score before. I never cared about that score since I am not planning on applying for a motgage. I was able to pay cash for a house back in 2008 when others were filing bankruptcy, losing their jobs. I will admit I took advantage of the situation back then. The only reason I didn't pay cash for the present car was that after spending a bit of money on my daughter's destination wedding in the California wine country all I had was about $10K left. I was waiting to save again when there was a flood and my car drowned. It didn't survive. I needed an emergency vehicle since my other car is not practical to drive every day. Now from the Forums after being an unregistered guest and reading about scores did I learn I will lose a lot of points when the car is PIF. I actually tipped last night more than I owe on my car. Scores never meant anything to me before the Forums. There was a time scores were pretty much not available. I can generally make almost anything go away on a CR. Almost. That's why my baddie only shows on one CR. I will take up the fight again though I am down to about 18 months. I have removed a Verizon CO/Collection from my CR. I have read on here that is not an easy one to have removed. The first words the Verizon VP said to me was "How much do you want to go away?" Not hello. Not confirming who I was. I agreed to settle for $0 if removed. There were several pages I had to have notarized to send back that I would quit my lawsuit. Believe me or not, but I have no reason to state a low CS. I don't have the best cards. I do have cards from some of the more desired finacial institutions. I didn't triple my AmEx card because I didn't know about that at the time. I do get very nice snail mail requests from AmEx, but I am not paying for a card. Citi offered me its AA card for free forever after my free first year and I was cancelling it. I turned it down. I don't fly AA. I fly SW when I fly. I know business credit. I have represented my company in Bankruptcy Court several times. No, I am not an attorney. I file liens. I garnish bank accounts. I file Bond claims and collect. I have one MBA, one Grad Certificate, one BA, one ABA, one AA, and a couple of diferent initials I could use after my name, but I am not generally pretentious. For some reason I have a low F2 score.

Can you list the reason codes for the Fico 2 score. Do you plan on getting an updated Experian report? 100 point variance is very unusual.
The mystery has been solved!. Several years ago when I was fixing my credit report and knew nothing of FICO CS or the Forums, I started a completely legal action against Experian. The kind of action that is frowned upon in these forums. Experian decided to lower my CS. It was from CK and the other FAKO sites that I saw my EX score drop. It was only the EX score that dropped and by a lot. Experian and I hammered out most of our differences and somehow I was given access to a free updated CR and the main FICO CS daily for a couple of years of so from EX. It was around the time the freebies were ending when I discovered the Forums. After looking for awhile, I joined. It turns out, EX had only updated my main FS. Remember, I don't see other CS, but the FICO 8 or whatever the main CS is.The other scores were kept down by EX. EX has now fixed the issue. EX has now sent me my FICO 2 score. It is well over a 100 points higher. I wrote to EX and asked why such a difference. I spoke with a bit of a jerk of a CSR that could not explain anything but stated the other CS were not updating. It now has! I should re-start my original action.

Are you really saying that EX had personal vendetta against you and "decided" to keep only some score models suppressed?
