Experian Fico score 12 point drop.

Hello MF, first I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year ! May 2021 be the best year of our life's !

I am just reporting a fico score drop to try and figure out why. Yesterday my Experian Fico was at 767 and today I woke up to an alert of a 12 point drop. There's absolutely no changes on my file. No derog's, no new accounts, no new balances reported, etc. the only thing that changed was 1 negative score card was added. "Lack of installment loans", but that was the case for forever as I've never had any sort of loan. Just wonder why ? No biggie tho.

hope everyone have a great start of 2021 !!!

It's the 1st of the month -- so something changed: age of accounts.   You may have crossed a threshold which refactored how aspects of your profile are weighted (hence why the lack of installments are suddenly an issue).   Can you take a look at all of your accounts and see if any age milestones may have been crossed,  including your AoOA and AAoA?

Hi @thornback, thank you for your reply. I understand your point of view and while that may be ( and probably is ) the answer for this, I do t think I have crossed any milestone as far as AAoA and AoOA. This is what I got.

just one month, was added to average length and oldest account. Lol

Thank you very much for the reply and I wish you a Happy and Healthy year !!!

Re: Experian Fico score 12 point drop.

It looks like OPs AoYRA is 9 months, so he's 3 months away from scorecard reassignment.  That doesn't appear to have been a factor here.

Outside of that, I don't see how any other aging could have resulted in a score drop.

OP, do understand that Fico scores are drawn on credit report data and data only.  So, if your score changes, it means the data changed.  It's common to say "nothing changed" but something always has to change in order for a score to change.  You have got to compare your before and after reports account by account, line by line and you will eventually find what it is.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for you Reply ! I do understand that scores are drawn by data only. Thank you for clarifying that. I will do an fine-tooth comb on it and I'll report back.

Thanks again and Happy New Year !

Re: Experian Fico score 12 point drop.

Just a question, what day is that aging screenshot from? When was your oldest account opened? Because at three years there’s typically a score drop due to scorecard reassignment from young to mature.
