Experian question

I pulled what I thought was an experian report on experian.com. I noticed when I went to cancel it was listed as freecreditreport.com. The bad thing is that when you print it, it has a fancy experian symbol and cover sheet so I thought it was my accurate experian score. I just read on here they no longer let you access their true fico score that lenders see. I thought I had increased my mid score to be FHA worthy but now I'm doubting I have my accurate experian score (which would have been my highest score and obviously affecting which is my mid score).  How accurate is this score they provided?

I can have a friend that is a lender pull my three bureau scores but I won't be quite ready to buy until summer and an approval is usually good for 120 days so I don't want them to have to pull it again around April or May when I'm house hunting b/c I don't know how long of a period multiple inquiries will affect my score.

Re: Experian question

No, unfortunately you did not get a true EX FICO score. There is no way to correlate how close it is to your true EX FICO because the two scores are likely not even on the same scale. Consumers can't buy their EX FICO score.

It is tough to know where you stand before a mortgage. The EQ score you pull here should be OK. However, myFICO and transunioncs.com sell only the TU98 score...not the TU04 score that will likely be pulled for a mortgage. Consumers can't buy the TU04 score. This score will differ as well. Some consumers find it higher; some find it lower.

So....usually only one score that you pull in advance is usable to you.

What you need to be doing is working on keeping good credit and fixing the negatives on your reports. Your scores will follow.

It's frustrating. I know.
