Hey guys. I'm a little confused. My experian is sitting at 688 and it's been like that for almost 3 months now. I don't know why its not going up. I always only let one card report under 10% and all others 0. I requested a CLI from Capital One and I got a small increase of $100 that card went from $300 to $400 and it stayed the same and when the other cards report i get the alert and no change happens. I applied for Care Credit 2 days ago and I was approved for 3k and it already reported to EX and I got the alert this morning and I was expecting it to go up with that SL but no, it stayed the same again there was no change. Why do you guys think that it's not going up? It's about to be 3 months and no change. The other 2 bureaus have been going up but not EX. My EQ is 718 and TU is 700. Any ideas why that's happening? Thanks in advance.
1. Sometimes a score doesn't change.
2. Addition of a new account doesn't necessarily increase or decrease your score. In my case it never seems to change my score one way or the other.
3. The bureaus each calculate FICO differently, even if they have the same data.
4. There is a possibility that EX might have different data, which you can only ascertain by comparing the full reports line by line.
+1 on this. Definitely a "fine tooth comb" issue. Could be an old collection that is lingering on EX, perhaps an old closed account dropped off causing AAoA to suffer. The devil may be in the details (however minute) on this one.

To South Jamaica: I already compared them side by side and they all have the exact same data that's why I'm confused.
To 805orbust: I don't have any collections on any bureau. I'm 19 so I'm still building my credit. I have no baddies/lates on any of them always PIF and only 1 of my 3 cards reports a less than 10% UTIL likr everyone always advises me to. I'm confused because they all have the same data 2 cards with $985 combined limit, now $3,985 with my recent care credit approval and the loan I have also. AAoA 7 months. That's the data that all 3 have I compared them side by side.
Well, like I said:
1. Sometimes a score doesn't change.

To royalflush124: I hope your EX score has changed. Mine has been stuck for at least 6 months now. I’m wondering if EX just doesn’t bother to update their scores very often. Even with different data, how likely is it that a score would stay the same that long?
Very possible actually especially when aggregate and individual UTI do not cross thresholds (8.9%, 28.9%...etc.), my scores across all three didn't change for 8 months until my inquiries started to hit their 1st birthdays at end of March this year.
To OP, adding additional available credit most likely won't make a single dent on your score if your UTI is already under 8.9%. Adding a new trade line on the other hand usually causes a scoring drop due to the drop in your AAoA and resetting your AoOA to 0 month, I would jump for joy if my score stay put after a new account reporting. The reason you didn't take a hit, I suspect, is probably because your AAoA and AoOA are already at the lowest possible tier/threshold.
If you’re 19, I am going to assume your profile is pretty young. You may be best to hang tight and let those accounts age and not add any more for a bit.
Do you have any installment loans reporting?
I think the majority of us are really happy when we don’t see a score change after a new account is added, for a lot of us we anticipate a temporary score drop that comes with it 😂.
OP, are you sure that the new Care Credit account already reported, or are you just referring to the inquiry already showing up? It's unlikely that a brand new account would land on your credit report within 2 days, but the inquiry certainly would be there. It's important to distinguish between these two events, as if the new account didn't show up yet on your report and it was just the inquiry, it's possible that your score may drop a little when it does in fact show up.
