Experian won't let me view my credit report online.

I attempted to run my Experian credit report using the yearly free annualcreditreport.com. Has anyone tried this lately and received the message that they could not offer the report online and that you should snail mail them a copy of 3 identification documents and then they could mail it back?

This could very well be a technical issue they are experiencing but the amount of goodwill I have for EX has decreased steeply considering the issues they have produced lately. Are they trying to make things difficult on comsumers on purpose?

A friend mentioned this very thing to me this morning. I think that she answered one of the questions wrong.

Eh, I don't believe I did. Regardless, when I try and access it again it says that I have already received my free report. Which I haven't if I have to still go through some convoluted mailing process.

Re: Experian won't let me view my credit report online.

Unfortunately it happens when you answer a question and it doens't match what they have. The sad part is that often times YOU are answering it correctly, its THEIR incorrect information that is in conflict but none the less you are the one who is forced to jump through hoops. This happened to my wife where they asked her "do you currently live or have you ever lived on: XXX" and she said no, because she hadn't and turns out they got this address from a creditor in conjunction with a reported collection and was not even her address. So go figure.

This happened to my husband and myself this weekend too.
