Experians Score Compared with others

Ok I know that Experian is no longer providing us (the public)Robot Mad   with our FICO score and without having a lender run my credit. I am trying to understand IF in the past Experian was in general lower or higher then the other scores. I know our scores are based on 5million factors most of which we will never truly understand. But I am just trying to get a guestimate of if they, (assuming the had the same information) are generally higher, lower or the same as the other two. Thanks for your input.

Re: Experians Score Compared with others

Sorry, even if you're talking about the long-last EX FICO score, it was variable by your credit reports. EX was always my highest or very close to highest, because I have an account on EX only that is very old. Others report that their EX FICO was always their lowest. I'm sure that you'll get posts saying that EX was always the highest or the lowest, but again, it's all according to your reports and your score bucket.

And when it comes to the FAKO scores --Vantage, PLUS, etc. --there just ain't no telling. Smiley Tongue

Re: Experians Score Compared with others

Yea I meant FICO but I was hoping there may be some sort of standard that in general one was higher or middle or lower in scoring . Thanks for the tip!  I know its all variable depending on information.....

Yeah, I wish it could be that simple. Many of us with lates have found that EQ is our worst report --they seem to be much harsher on lates than the other two.

As each CRA commissions its own tweaked formula, you're always going to have differing scores, according to how the varying factors are weighted by the differing formulas.

Exactly, and when I could see it Experian was always my highest score.  So there is no general pattern.  Fair Isaac does try to keep the mean and median similar, so the percentages in each score range will be comparable, but there is no simple way to predict where any individual will be.  It's kinda like three college professors teaching sections of a course: they grade on the same curve so all of them will have about the same proportion of "A," "B," and "C" grades, but each professor will emphasize different aspects of the subject.

From close reading of my own reports (especially how my scores fluctuated as my CC balances did) and various discussions here, I believe EQ places a little more emphasis on total dollars owed on credit cards, TU places a little more emphasis on number of accounts with balances, and EX places a little more emphasis on percentage utilization of revolving credit, as compared with the others.  In my case, I have fairly high limits, and I always use all my cards every month, so my number of accounts with balances is always the same and my %utilization is always low.  But my wife and I carry very little cash, put everything on our cards, and pay in full when the bills arrive, so my balances fluctuate substantially (one month under $1K, then $7K the next month if we happen to have spent a lot that month).  Result: my EQ score varies more than the others.

TU 791 02/11/2013, EQ 800 1/29/2011 , EX Plus FAKO 812, EX Vantage Score 955 3/19/2010 wife's EQ 9/23/2009 803
EX always was my highest when we could pull all three
