F8 Experian score jumped 8 points today!

I woke up to an unexpected score jump of 8 points on Experian this morning. The only thing I can point to is that I have 3 cards that may have turned 3 months on this month. I actually got the cards on 11-1, 11-15, and 11-15 last year, but they show on the report that they were opened 11-1. My score only dipped 13 points from going on a 5 card spree at the end of the year, so this almost got it back!

Is 3 months a big deal as far as scoring goes?
The only thing else that changed that I see is that my AAoA went from 4 yrs to 4yrs, 1 month. No other accounts or balances have reported differently since the 23rd.

Congratulations on your success!

Depending on profile, some may see ageing points at the 3m, 6m and of course the 12m AoYA points bonus.

There's a few post here and even this one from today that addresses the 3M mark for AoYA for certain scorecards.  Not for me, but what I gather from reading this and the link Cassiecard included, it sounds like it is seen on thin and/or dirty scorecard..?

Yep. 24 out of 28 FICO scores up anywhere from +8 to +25 points. AoYA 3mo jump is real.

Congratulations!

That’s awesome. I have 2 more cards that will age to 3 months next month, and a HP that will fall off, so hopefully I’ll see some more upward movement.

Re: F8 Experian score jumped 8 points today!

@Anonymous I think it's AOYRA not AOYA, but it's not even that, because he has cards turning 3 months again next month, so that means his AOYRA is 2 months or less. I was hoping this would rule out thin cards, but since he has a 2 month old revolver, it doesn't even do that.

@JNA1 What is the age of your youngest revolver? Also what is your AoOA, age of oldest account, please?

1 of 2 things, IMHO. Either it's tied to positive payment history and having 3 months of no delinquencies on the new account, OR I've read older threads where there was an additional penalty applied when like 3 or more cards were opened closely to each other. (I thought that was only on the older models though.) Anyway, the penalty supposedly went away at 90 days/3 months.

Just my 2 cents.
