FICO 10T vs. Vantage 4

Re: FICO 10T vs. Vantage 4

Again, I'm sad. My VS4 slipped down from 805 to 798. Only $5 total debt existed. I'll never understand what about that should cause a decrease. I wish that this app updated the industry scores daily rather than only at the time we made our payment. My FICO 10T average is 841.

At this point in time, why do you care?  Unless you're planning on applying to Synchrony for credit in the near future, the VS4 number is irrelevant.  Maybe this time next year it will mean something, but now?  No.

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

By the way.... As far as I've been able to determine, THERE'S ACTUALLY ONLY ONE, NOT THREE Vantage 4 score. The reports from all 3 bureaus get merged BUT JUST THAT ONE SCORE is produced. That's why when one is seen, it always says Vantage 4 TU. Jovia has confirmed this with me via a chat conversation.

After reading the VS4.0 user guide and an Equifax product sheet for VS4.0, I'm pretty sure that's not correct.  There are an EQ and EX VS4.0 scores, it's just that the model they all use is the same.  There's no individual customizations for each bureau so your scores will be more closely aligned across all 3 (effectively just the differences in what's reporting will be what accounts for changes).

Thanks for providing these. This gives some great insight both on how Vantage 4 scores are marketed and also provides some detail on scoring factors. Unfortunately the product sheet does a lot of comparisons about how Vantage 4 is better than 3, but doesn't discuss the real competitor (FICO).
