FICO 9

Are FICO 9 scores generally higher than FICO 8? Is there a possibility my FICO 9 could be significantly lower? I'm gonna app with PNC in the near future for a card. I already have an account with them and I'm gonna go do it in person. I know PNC uses EX FICO 9 for apps. All I know is my FICO 8 which is 655. I want to get my score to 670 before I go in and app but I'm worried maybe my FICO 9 could be way lower. What places offer my EX FICO 9 score online. Also if anyone has any experience with PNC I would love to hear what you think.

Re: FICO 9

FICO9s are often higher than FICO8s when things like PAID collections, inquiries, and new accounts are holding your FICO8s down. FICO9 ignores PAID collections and seems to penalize a bit less for inquiries and new accounts.

FICO9s may be lower than FICO8s if you have UNPAID collections, charge-offs (paid or unpaid), or 60Day+ lates present. FICO 9 seems to apply a heavier penalty for major derogs.

You can get your FICO9s from myFico.com

I have no experience with PNC.

Re: FICO 9

I do have a couple charge offs and collections that followed. Although I have not missed a payment in 4 and a half years but they are there. Holding my fico 8 down I'm sure so your saying fico 9 weighs those things heavier? Where can I get my EX 9?

Re: FICO 9

You can get your FICO9 scores from myFICO.com.

Yes, it's likely your FICO9s will be lower since you have chargeoffs present (of course, it's profile specific but my guess is they'll be lower).

I had a 5 year old paid chargeoff as my only derogatory on all 3 reports and my FICO9s were 45-60 points lower (depending on the bureau) than my FICO8s. Once the derog was removed, my FICO9s shot up and are now higher than my FICO8s.

Re: FICO 9

So if I order the one time one bureau report from myfico for EX it will give me my fico 9? Because when I read the small print it didn't say anything about fico 9. I think it's like $19.95

Re: FICO 9

Mine 9s are lower than my 8s and bounce up and down 40 points while my 8s go up and down like 5.

Re: FICO 9

Just got my fico 9 for EX and it's 45 points lower. It's 610. So looks like I won't be getting a card with my bank for a little while. Really sucks that PNC decided to start using 9 instead of 8.
