FICO CREDIT SCORE ESTIMATOR

HELLO, I'VE BEEN GOOD SINCE BK 4/2014....SCORE W/TRANSUNION ......1/2015 568 TO NOW 659..

FICO EXPERIAN IS NOW 652....THE ESTIMATOR SAID TO PAY $795 OF MY BALANCE AND IT WOULD ADD 5 POINTS TO MY SCORE.

WELL...I'VE PAID $920 NO JUMP IN SCORE...WHY?

I'VE PAID OFF MY OVER STOCK BALANCE OF $644 WHICH SHOULD REPORT BY 12/15...DO YOU THINK MY SCORE WOULD
JUMP THEN?

MY UTILIZATION WOULD BE AROUND 8% BY THEN....

Re: FICO CREDIT SCORE ESTIMATOR

One:  You need to make sure the payments and new balances are reported to your score.  Just because you paid it - you have to give it time to report - that could be part of the problem.

Two:  You SHOULD get a bump if total UTIL is under 10% - but not always.  Sometimes other factors come into play.

Watch your scores trend over time - not worrying about a typical fluctuation/bump/drop that seems to happen to all of us.  It's a long road, give it time.

Re: FICO CREDIT SCORE ESTIMATOR

I've noticed it real hard to get my score to move with. BK it seems stuck a lot and only fluctuates 2-3 points at a time. Once I hit the 650's it goes between 658 and 662. So I think the age of the BK my play a roll in it? I took 17HP and actually gained 2 on my TU. Lost nothing on EQand EX. This was well over a month ago. They have remained steady.
I have a CO coming off soon so I'm hoping I'll gain something but I'm not hopefull with that BK.

Re: FICO CREDIT SCORE ESTIMATOR

Thank you for your response Harley14...

Yep after paying off another Cap1 ...which just reported...no move on Equifax or TransUnion.
Equifax just said card decreased $427 and TransUnion...Bankcard balance is $678...
So after paying off Khols, Cap1 and Overstock...wanted scores to move since my Utilization will go down to about 8-9%

Next update:
Experian...Cap1 pay off/blance paid of $427
Experian Overstock  balance paid $644
Trans Union balance paid $644
Experian balance paid $644

What is the age of your BK?  And what was the tine frame for your hard pulls?  I'll be honest and say that I'm asking to help my own understanding, and am not necessarily going to have an answer for your dilemma at the moment.  I'm relatively new to monitoring, and feel like myfico has created a new sport of sorts.

Hi, and thanks for that info!  I am digesting quite a bit to try to have abetter understanding of credit after bk.  No need to apologize for typos either, it was a great post!  I'm relying a little bit on my subconscious to hopefully tie a lot of this together, to aid my conscious understanding.

About the scores, getting that many points for a pull seems a bit, well, different.  Smiley Happy  Sometimes I wonder if their are latent score changes that come from other factors(baddies aging, goodies aging) that dont get reported as "alerts" on myfico, and happen to report at the same time as an alert, like your pull?  I know a score change itself can be an alert, but I'm curious if sometimes a score change coincides with something like an inquiry, and myfico reports it in a way that implies cause and effect?   I'm putting that question out for the wise elders who likely know the anwer and can confirm or deny my suspicions.  Smiley Happy

If not, I'd also welcome someone to comment ona  14 point INCREASE on a pull.  I find that rather interesting!     Thanks for the post

Re: FICO CREDIT SCORE ESTIMATOR

Good morning,
Sorry, I've tried to copy the scoring model but I guess I'm not techinal enough.  I wonder how people are able to post the actual increases, decrases on this forum. Oh well...I did look at all other changes with EQand TU during the time my EX score increased 14 points when my Credit Union pulled my report.  No changes other than some small decreaes in credit card balances.  A few months back EQ increased my score 5 points for an inquiry from a online shopping store...ShopNBC...I'm thinking if you get approved for the credit the inquiry model is different...not sure.

In Sept I did dispute a lot of items that should have been updated after my BK.  EX ttook off 23 points from updating an account that that charge off to "included in BK"...it took me a couple of days to figure it out because Fico repoted the decrease as " Balance change".  I didn't know until I tried the free trial with EX and saw a negative item update on their website. So my score which was the highest at that time was 663 went down to 640.  Well since I got the 14 point for the inq , 2 points for paying down my Khols card and 6 points today because my cap 1 loan was paid off....its back to 662..go figure.
