Is there any correlation between FICO & FAKO scores?
If so if my current (pulled today) EQ FICO = 634 and its corresponding FAKO = 594
Then does that mean that if My current FAKO scores For TU and EX are 603 & 625
are their corresponding FICO's TU 643 & EX 665???
Or is it completely random and FAKO scores mean nothing. I have scorewatch and truecredit and I was just trying to see how long I could get away with not buying my TU and EX FICO score.
No, no, and FAKOs mean nothing.
Remember, some FAKOs range from 300-850. Some 501-990. And some 100-900something. Plus the formula is different. Anybody can create a score. Pay me $10 and I'll give you a score. There's no relation. They don't have access to the FICO formulas. They are just wannabes.
My FAKOs have gone up and FICOs down at the same time. I once had 58 points increase on EX FICO and drop 8 points on a EX FAKO due to a collection drop. You'll go nuts trying to figure FAKOs out.
Yeah that's what I thought, I just couldn't find where I had read it again and if I didn't ask I would have gone crazy wondering or spent the whole evening searching.
Thanks for the quick response.
Heee Heee its almost as though FAKO could stand for "FAKE -O" That would be a great way to remember that they don't mean anything.
That is exactly how we pronounce it, and that's exactly why!

Oh no. I was all excited my FAKO went up in the past 10 days 30 points after only a 10 point increase in 6+ months. Checking my FICO tonight- but this is giving me pause- hoping it didn't go down. YIKES! LOL
p.s. I realize FAKO's a "crap"- however I still check mine with the same fako place- seeing the score go up- even a few points always makes me excited. I realize it is NOT RELIABLE at all- but it gives me motivation during my credit repair.

Isn't this a sticky thread somewhere? It gets asked and answered just about every single day.
I think all new users to the forum should be required to do a 30 minute CBT on the difference between FAKO and FICO
Or, a 30 second one will do... 'This is your brain. This is your brain on FAKO, any questions?'

btw, the FICO vs FAKO bit hasn't changed, but I wanted to point out that this is a 2008 thread, in case anyone wanted to reply to an earlier poster or something.
There is a possibility that Credit Sesame is close to your Experian Fico score. There is a thread on another credit board. Mine is rather close just 4 points off.
