FICO Score help

Hi,

I have just gotten into this credit repair and scoring game that we all seem to enjoy playing. (A little humor, yes very little I know)  I would like to get a true TU FICO score, but I am wondering, does the quarterly monitoring when FICO pulls the credit report impact scores? Is it a hard pull or soft pull?

Which product is the best to get? I know before I started rebuilding in June that my true FICO (not a FAKO) was 545. Since then I have opened an auto loan and two CC's and would like to watch my scores go up.  Any suggestions?

Re: FICO Score help

none of the score pulls purchased at myfico will harm your score.

as for the best product, well there's no individual answer. click the products tab and it does a decent job of breaking the products down.

good luck, post up any other questions.

Re: FICO Score help

Actually the cheapest way to pull on an ongoing basis is to use the discount codes and pull when you are sure all your accounts have reported. Unless you get nutz about it like some here ahem there is no need to pull every month. Maybe alternate a different bureau every month.

Re: FICO Score help

LOL... I would love to pull every month but my DW would yell at me for adding debt to the CC's. I would like to check them each quarter... I have my current TU (from this morning) and EXP (from last week) but I don't have scores for either of these, since I did not want to pay their sites for FAKO's. Where are these coupons/discounts?

have to google them, unless it's a code posted on the myfico homepage we aren't allowed to share them here.

Re: FICO Score help

Enter these terms: fico discount coupon code, and you ought to hit something. Expect to make some trial runs.

One thing nice about the order site is that you can always back out if the code appears and it's not worth it.

Re: FICO Score help

Hi pappy!
If you havent done so in the past 12 months, I would highly recommend that you order your totally free and non-commercail full CR from each CRA through annualcreditreport.com.
It wont give you scores, but will give you a free and completE CR from each of the CRAs.

Re: FICO Score help

Hi, thanks Robert, I already pulled my free annual CR's from there. I was just curious as to what my scores actually were/are.  I got a car loan and I am paying 25 percent. My FICO was 545 at the time, I want to see if it went up any since I got the loan a few months ago.
