Re: FICO Scoring Buckets (or "Scorecards")

I'm not convinced that anyone ever does get above the mid-830's. 850 might be the pre-1953 Mount Everest of credit scores. Technically doable, but until I see someone post a screen print of a myFICO score display, I'm not yet a believer.

Oh, well then, when it comes from an authoritative source like that....

(and for anyone getting ready to ask, no, we can't post a link to CB Smiley Sad, even for Triumph the Insult Dog, if that's the same dog)

IMHO even if you could, you probably couldnt keep the score at 850 very long.  It would be constant struggle to keep the score that high and it would limit your use of credit so much you might as well have a 350.

Kinda like James Cagney and his "Mom, I'm on the top of the World" speech.

Re: FICO Scoring Buckets (or "Scorecards")

I read that there is really no such thing as an 850 score. This was a quote from a spokesperson who worked at Fair Issac. The idea was that it stretched to 850 for 'extra room' in case they need to modify the algorithm, they would have an ability to let the score grow with new variables/etc.

Imagine a new method of measuring takes place and one in the 830's is rewarded over time for fitting this new bucket.

I found that interesting.

Re: FICO Scoring Buckets (or "Scorecards")

I'd say it's difficult or even impossible to get an 850.

That would be cruel. I'd be playing a game with no possible ending.
