FICO drops after submitting dispute.

Why would my score drop if I am disputing an item on my credit report?

Re: FICO drops after submitting dispute.

Most of the time when have an item in dispute it is taken out of FICO scoring. So, you may have lost UTI, or AAoA, or something else positive.

Re: FICO drops after submitting dispute.

A current dispute will have zero impact on a CA or PR, other than sometimes the baddie itself could update in a ways that hurts more.

A current dispute on an OC can result in it being scored differently as pointed out. AAoA or length of history isn't impacted in any way during a dispute, but a dispute can result in FICO not scoring the balance or CL or the payment history. At the conclusion of the dispute, the TL can update in a way that can further impact your score (e.g. they can add lates or update in a way that hurts).

Mine dropped about 35 points when I disputed 4 items. Once the disputes were over my score went up 55 points. So I had a net gain of 20 points.

Re: FICO drops after submitting dispute.

The day after I submitted dsiputes, I received a FICO  score update with a lower score. The reason give was my dispute inquiry. I can't imagine it was reviewed in one day.

While SW only checks scores for updates every 7-10 days or so, it will alert you to a score change if there was a major event behind it like an account with a new comment. I'd say the score is accurate and the comment indicates an active dispute. Hopefully they'll verify it and your score will bounce back.
