FICO score dropped by ~40 points, anything to do with my Banks?

Dear forum members,

My TU, EX and EQ scores dropped a lot within a week (I got the scores from Barclays, Amex and other bank cards). Can anyone confirm if this is related to my recent applications and possibly new HPs? The creditkarma doesn't show any new HPs beside two in Jan for my apps and one back in Dec for the Citi app, but I am not sure if the Chase bank or others are reporting something new while I am waiting for my app got approved. How will this ~40 point drop affect me?

Background: I applied for a Citi card at the end of Dec last year, and the new account reported at the mid of Jan this year. Then I did two new apps for BoA and Chase cards on Jan 12th. One from BoA got denied, and the Chase app got a review chance. Most frustratingly, the Chase bank asked me to verified my address at a very long delay, then I mailed in a bank bill, they said not valid. Then I sent in a lease both by fax and mail, they said you only accept formal lease while I have received a denial letter. Then I asked my landlord to sign a formal printed lease for me, and faxed it back in to Chase more than a week ago, but the new information is still not updated in their system while . This app has not been finished two months after my app. I heard from the fraud department of the Chase bank that they are reviewing my mailed lease right now which is the old hand-written and mailed-in one after the faxed one. I called in to the lending department a while ago to tell them know there is a new version of lease faxed last week, but the department was closed for today. I heard Chase will do NEW HPs if it has been more than 30 days after the app. My question is: would have Chase done the HP twice already for the denial letter and immediately after the app (my Creditkarma shows me the one after the app)? And will my drop of scores affect my approval chance to the AARP Chase card? My score is about 705-720 on my three FICO agents records now. Before, it was ~750-765.

Another information is that I have about 5 cards reporting last month for 6 opening accounts. One has a dispute charge of $120 with Costco under my Amex TrueValue account. The bank didn't charge me but still reported a big balance under my account last month. The overall utility is about ~2% while ~0% before. I guess this rising utility and new opening account from Citi bank affected my FICO scores. But this has never happened before for ~40 pionts of drop!

Anyone can explain and say something about the impact for my Chase app under review still? Thanks!

INQs are a very low factor in FICO scoring.  One should never rely on CK or CS for scores.  These sites are only good at looking at the details of one's report.

A 40 point drop is NOT related to INQs.  They could be related to AAOA but that seems unlikely.  My guess is that this drop is a combination of things.

I only use CK or Credit.com to check INGs and reports. But I still cannot figure out what might have caused this big drop. Maybe new account + raising of utilities + raising number of reporting accounts?
