FICO simulator?

I seem to recall that someone in this forum mentioned a myFICO simulator/calculator to weigh how action A would affect scores versus action B. I can't seem to find it.  Is it a free tool or a part of a myFICO product?  Is my memory totally off base? If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

Re: FICO simulator?

I have never seen it.   However, I am fairly sure you can only use it after you buy a score from MyFico.  I am not sure which product (or if all) will give you access to it.

Re: FICO simulator?

yes, it's not much of a simulator though.

Go into your last pulled report for the bureau you wish to simulate.  At the top there are a series of "tabs", with the last one being "Next Steps".

Once on that tab you should see a link that say something like "determine your FICO future".... the link is generally in the middle of the next page.

Click that and it should bring up the simulator.

Thanks! What do you mean it's not much of a simulator?  I'm trying to figure out if it makes a difference in my score where I pay down a CC balance (a closed CC, an open one at about 50% util, or a joint CC with a high balance (90%+ util) that I'm an AU on). I already have a 3-in-1 credit report monitoring with daily pulls and FAKOs through EIDT and my TU Fico through Barclay.  I'm guessing it's not worth getting an extra service just for the simulator and just go with my gut/trial and error on which card to pay down.

Re: FICO simulator?

It will give you an estimation of what it will do to your score.  CK has a free one too.  With any of these simulators it truly is a guess.  Most users report that they are rarely very accurate.  But it can still give you a rough idea of what to expect.
