1st post, did a search for this issue can't find anything . FNBO brands thier score as a FICO Bankcard 8 and they tell me mine is 625, it's not branded as a credit score or a Vantage score but as a Fico Bankcard 8. Well my Bankacrd 8 score from My Fico is 825. There can be a discrpentcy in scoring I get that but 200 points . I have contacted FNBO but they just rgive me same old story scores can be different blah blah blah. My Fico scores TU 795 EQ 752 EX810 I don't trust them as a financial instution and don't really need them, it just bugs me , they are using the 625 score to evalute me . Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Not that this is your issue, but just in case... Fico 08 and Bankcard 08 are two different scoring models. Mine are different, but more to the tune of +/- 50 points.
Total Cards: 24 | Total Limit: $304,250
Current FICO 8 Scores: EQ: 841| TU: 815 | EX: 814
Hard Inquiries: 1
Thanks for the reply. I know they are different mine are Bankcard 8 825 and Fico 810. What bugs me is FNBO is using the 625 to evalutate my credit worthiness. I's simply not right or fair . When I talk to customer support they are just clueless

It is certainly possible to have more than 100 point difference in score from different sources even if they use the same Fico model. How? the data used for scoring is pulled from a CRA. If one CRA shows a baddie and another does not - a 100 point difference is not unusual. However, a 200 point difference is rather extreme. I can see 150 points due to a bankruptcy or short sale on one CRA but not another.
Does FNBO indicate what CRA there data is coming from? It should be disclosed. If your MyFico is 1B only, is the CRA different than the one used by FNBO? Check all your credit reports for negatives - those factors really are the only thing that could account for such an extreme score difference.
And do you know for sure that FNBO uses that credit score for evaluating your credit?
Capital One recently switched over to the Vantage score as the free score you receive from them. They flat out said that is not the score they are using for credit evaluation in the email announcing the change. That does not make sense to me Cap1, show me what you use, not some OTHER score.
Do you have a Credit Karma account? Curious what that free score is compared to the FICO scores.
FNBO brands the score as a FICO Bankcard 8 from Experian, Cap One does not use FICO they call it a credit score my Cap One is 760. What I have explained to FNBO when I talk to them on the phone is I am looking on My Fico as I speak and my Experian Bankcard 8 score is 825 and my FICO is 810, and the responce is scores are different end of story . If a company uses the FICO model, the Bankcard 8 version of the FICO model how can the difference possibly be 200 points

I'd always heard they were indeed using Experian FICO 8 Bankcard industry option, and nobody to my knowledge has reported something different.
Are the dates remotely similar? The Bankcard scores here don't update over time... you might be able to get FBNO to discuss whatever information they have in your credit file besides the score, if they have a report or similar you might be able to go through it with them. I'd also look at the base Experian report, even though I have never seen a discrepancy on Experian here, there might be elsewhere... complicated application infrastructure, could be something got cached somewhere or you have a split file or something wierd going on, but either way doesn't really sound like FBNO is looking at the right dataset.

MyFICO EX 08 Bankcard score and FNBO FICO EX 08 Bankcard score has always been in sync. Are the scores from different dates or are you comparing EX Bankcard to TU Bankcard?
What are your other EX scores? Are they in the ballpark of the 08 Bankcard? In other words, is your Classic EX 08 in the same neighborhood (798 -810)? If all your Experian scores are high, then perhaps there's a typo with your FNBO & it'll correct with your next report date.
I just got off the phone again with FNBO and they told me to dispute with Experian, I started that process and got the report and there is nothing that is incorrect, so what can I dispute. Dealing with FNBO is beyond frustrating . I have 2 cards with them at zero balance what I am going to do is simply not use them and phase them out in the next couple years. Most people probably would not care but I have become so hyper vigilant to my credit that this drives me nutty. Thanks to those who took the time to post
I was sorry to read about your experience with FNBO. I am a brand new member here (still need to create a Siggy), but I wanted to say I completely agree with you. We work so hard on getting our scores to a good place, and then to see what you saw! I woud be angry as well, and it would greatly upset me. Perhaps write a letter to FNBO Executive Offices and include your research and back up data.
Good Luck!!
