Re: Fico Scores increased unexpectedly

I am glad to hear of your scores.  My Experian score up 10 points today however, Transunion down 5 points I have not heard from Equifax.

Transunion has always been up and mainly down for me and to make things really bad, my amounts owed to accounts deecreased.  Their score factors are always wrong and never changes regardless of length of credit.  I just do not have the time to deal with Transunion.  I will be glad when they get things straight.

Starting Score: 544
Current Score: 661
Goal Score: 700

Thanks, I think I remember seeing that thread.

I thought though, and maybe I'm mistaken, that AOYA turning 3months shouldn't see a score increase if you are in a dirty scorecard. Or is that something we're not exactly clear on?

Either way, dirty score card and all, my scores are steadily rising.. which is great

I steadily increased on the old FICO models (I didn't have FICO 8 access when I started) in a dirty scorecard but I had no AOYA/AOYRA whatever we call it metrics at all.

We don't get many new files frankly or in my case no positive history files back in the day and as such the data is pretty sporadic and unconfirmed.  I have no youngest or revolving reason codes anywhere on TU at the moment with a 60D late, FICO 9 does which is interesting to me at least.  TU FICO 4 concretely those reason codes don't even exist in the 60D and other derogatory scorecards, FICO 8 industry options might I have to go look at that again but unfortunately FICO 8 reason codes suck for everyone except the TU monitoring here which I don't have.

Also whenever I opened up new accounts (and I did this a lot over the years) I never took any drops unless I crossed an AAOA boundary when I was in the derog scorecards.  I'll see if I can catch TU before and after with the Surpass I just opened fully on all FICO models from here, usually TU lags the update to EX so I should be able to time it reasonably well with no other changes.  Knock on wood.

Re: Fico Scores increased unexpectedly

I'm the opposite, I steadily increase of Fico 8, Fico 9 and their bank card versions.

I see increases but much less on the older scoring models.

Re: Fico Scores increased unexpectedly

There could be a five-year breakpoint on those delinquencies that did it.

I wish that date didn’t correlate to 5 years even so that we would know whether or not these 3 month award’s also happen on derogatory scorecards.

Re: Fico Scores increased unexpectedly

As a matter of fact, I don't think it occurs on dirty cards per AOYRA/AOYA, because AOYRA/AOYA isn't a thing on dirty cards, so far as we know from Version 8 down. Although that's very interesting you saw that on Version 9, Rev.

I think it was the derogatories hitting the 5 year mark, or again, something to do with 3 months of positive payment history on a new account(s).

As a matter of fact, there was a member ... was it you @thornback that got some points back at 5 years from DOFD?

Re: Fico Scores increased unexpectedly

It’s interesting nonetheless whatever the reason is. I thought about it this morning and I guess I had assumed I’d get points when my most recent late hit 2 yrs versus the older one hitting 5 and that maybe it was the positive 3 month history of my youngest revolver. Either way... I’ll report back monthly when I see increases.

Yes that was me.   I have to find my thread to refresh my memory tho to give specifics -   I'll come back (on mobile - too much work).

Okay -- here's the thread on that.   My experience is probably not the best though because I actually lost points - there was a lot going on with my file at the time with both AoOA & AoYA aging occurring at the same time - 2/1/19 & a bunch of new accounts.    We concluded that I experienced scorecard reassignment.  The talk of the derogatory aging to a 5 year threshold starts on page 2.

Oh.. haha, I mentioned OP's derog aging in post #6  of this thread.  I was about to link to a recent post I read that noted a boost after a derog aged to 5 years and I found it! It was this one... lol.
