Fico score s affect with rent & utility payments

Has anyone ever added rent and other tradelines, such as utility bills to their credit report? If so, how many points could it possibly go up by? Any difference in points when you add more than one account to the credit report? If the payment that you make shows up on the balance that for example is $ 900 instead of showing a $ 0 balance, will that cause issues or does the scoring models that include it in the utilization percentage?

Re: Fico score s affect with rent & utility payments

Fico started considering rent payment history with the Fico 9 algorithm. VantageScore started with VS3. Not sure if utility payments are considered in any of the mainstream models.

Fico does (or atleast did) have a Fico XD 2 model designed to enable scoring those with no credit account history. That model considers things such as utility and cell phone bills/payments.

Impact of rent payment history on score will depend on length and depth of your credit history. It primarily helps those new to credit and/or with minimal credit accounts.

Rental payments won't be part of a utilization calculation. They would be evaluated based on length of on-time payment history and lates more like an installment loan or car lease.
