I was at 800+ couple years ago and hit the bottom. After drastically bringing down my debt in the last few days, I have checked my scores today. It went up from 652 Fair to 675 Good. I still have another $9k in payments to update on the reports. I'll check the scores again in 2 weeks when they update my accounts with those payments. Not sure how much it will help to gain the scores in the next 2 weeks. After that I'll still have about $24k in Credit Card debt. Hopefully, I'll pay it off soon. Keeping my fingers crossed to see if I can break 700 mark in the near future. Thanks for all the support from the fellow MyFico members.
Nice job rebuilding and taking the right path. What source are you using for your scores?

For now I pulled the EX score from MyFiCO website. In 2 weeks remaining accounts should be updated and then I'll pull an update 3B score again. I want to see how much paying off the existing debt will help with scores. Once it is done, I have to take a look at the charged off accounts and see if there is any thing i can do to settle them and see if it helps with improving my scores.
Frequent pulls of your scores from the myFICO website can mount up and become quite expensive. There are other approaches that will cost you $0 (or perhaps $1 occasionally). You should at least look into those approaches, which are a better fit for someone doing a lot of rebuilding over time.

Thank you very much. I have been using Credit Karma and also WalletHub to check the balances and updates for the accounts. I am also checking the FICO scores at the credit cart websites like Amex, Citi and Discover. I am pulling the reports at MyFico when I want to see the actual scores and gain in improvement,
If you haven't done so, you can add freecreditscore.com to the mix. That'll give you a monthly Experian score and report. It'll alert you and update mid-cycle if something major happens (like an inquiry). But balance changes aren't considered major, so it doesn't update for those.
Pause and reflect for a bit. You did not drown in credit debt within a few days or weeks. For repairs it will take days, weeks, months, and perhaps some years. Watch your spending and keep up your current payments. While now you may feel down, out, or depressed, it will improve and then You will be shining soon. The journey encompasses lots of bus stops, there are no reasons why everybody cannot achieve the 760 and higher club. (760 is generally the point when one achieves the best interest rate status for banking decisions). The 800 club adds the strawberries to the top. This is your trip, yes your journey. You are the driver and your actions control your destiny. Good luck, I am certain you can achieve Elite Credit Status.
