Gardening

So my last app was for Wells Fargo Cash Wise on 3/16. Approved] With my Nov-Mar 2017 App Spree--my TU and EX have dropped nearly 50pts.

How long will I have to garden to get my scores back up??

EQ has held strong, for some reason-freezing it and Innovis report simultaneously I suppose, although all of my recent apps have EQ only pull.
I've accumalated a total of 12 CC and Store Cards combined. Surprised that its actually that many.

TU [F8 633] 18%UTI 18 INQ.
1.9yrs AAOA 1 Baddie /2012 Ch7
EQ [F8 699] 17%UTI. 23 INQ.
2.11yrs AAOA 0 baddies
EX [F8 638] 21%UTI. 11 INQ.
11.9yrs. AAOA 1 Baddie 2012/Ch7

Re: Gardening

My new accounts posted today and my score dropped, but from my understanding it will take 3 months for scores to bounce back

Re: Gardening

Really? Three months?? How many points did you lose and how many new accounts?

Re: Gardening

You're probably not going to see the points you lost through Inquires and damage to AAoA/AoYA until the inquiries and AoYA reach exactly the 1 year mark, damage done to AAoA however (depending on your profile) will probably take longer to full recovery.

Re: Gardening

Sorry didn't have time to give you my data point before. I started my app spree exactly 1 year ago with the following profile:

FICO 820s/0 Inq across the board

AAoA = 8.1

AoYA = 3.5

Obtained total of 8 personal and 2 business cards between 3/27/17 and 9/3/17, new profile after all dust settled: (CRA/Score/Inquiries)

EX/781/5 TU/807/2 EQ/792/3

AAoA = 3.3

AoYA = 0

The scores has pretty much remained the same with slight variations as I experimented with AZEO and UTI for the following months, I expected some scoring bumps when some the inquires and new accounts hit the 6 months mark (from reading this board) but nothing happened. Until on 3/27/18 when my first inquiry hit its birthday, my Experian gained 3 points to 784 and then another 7 points to 791 yesterday when the 2nd inquiry graduated on 3/31/18, I have 3 more reaching the one year mark between now and June that I fully expect more bumps, then probably another when the youngest account reaches 1 year.

Re: Gardening

I'm planning to garden at least 3 months, possibly 4. That'll allow enough time for the inquiries I generated last May-June to age to 1 year and stop weiging down my scores, and age some accounts to at least 1 year.

Re: Gardening

So, whenever I/we do app sprees--is it best to space them out allowing 6mos between them?
I scored were pretty high Oct/Nov 2017 with all 3 nearing 700 for the first time I applied for a few and got approved. I was basically done then but in January I was able to get my CH7 removed on Equifax(only) after 5yrs and my score went over 700 for EQ. Out of excitement I froze the other 2 and applied for accounts I suspected would only pull EQ., Penfed, NFCU, BofA.....
There are a few other cards I like down the road as well just need to know when is a good time to jump back out there per se.
Also, I opened a few business accounts as well so there are credit pulls for those as well.
It is hard to refrain once you see those approvals rolling in but I don't like the wasted denials either.
