General Credit Score Questions

The Experian PLUS Score is NOT a true FICO score?  How close is it?

The Equifax FICO is a real FICO score?

Thanks!

Re: General Credit Score Questions

The PLUS score is a FAKO, and there is no consistency as to how close it is. It varies wildly. For some it's way higher, for other's, it's way lower, and for a very few, it can be close. Sometimes.

Re: General Credit Score Questions

My FICO's are on average 60 points higher than my FAKO's on all 3 reports, well, until I could no longer receive the EX FICO scores.

Re: General Credit Score Questions

Hmm...My truecredit TU FAKO is lower than my FICO. The opposite is the case with CCT. CCT on the other hand has my EQ FAKO lower than my EQ FICO. And the opposite is the case with Truecredit. And ofcourse both the EX FAKOS are inconsistent. Sigh!

FAKOs are not wrong. They are just useless. I have my own scoring methodolody too but its useless.

Re: General Credit Score Questions

I have a EX plus score of 733 and my bank said my EX FICO is 641 a difference of 92 points. myFico.com score is 727. I am with you on the uselessness of all scores other than the one that your lender is using and if that is a EX FICO score it seems they say it is whatever they want it to be because you don't have it and can't get it and check them for accuracy. I have been tracking scores for 6 months and all have gone up except for the illusive EX FICO that my banker claims has gone down.

So even if improvement shows in my CreditCheck Total FAKO's it could mean no movement on my FICO's... Excuse me while I dig a hole a crawl in it.... with my freekin' FAKO's.Smiley Sad

Re: General Credit Score Questions

That is the whole problem with FAKOs. Their methodology is different. They are not wrong but because they are different, they are not of any use. For instance, below are my current scores. Interestingly, the significant bump (592 to 743) with the CCT score happened after adding an AU a/c. FICO bumped only 12 points and truecredit didn't budge.

Truecredit TU - 588

TU FICO - 602

CCT FAKO - 743

Obviously FAKOs are not even in the ballpark. The third party reports are only good for credit monitoring. Even then, they dont carry all the data required during credit repair.

Re: General Credit Score Questions

They are of use if your prospective creditor uses them.

The whole issue of what score matters boils down to the simple issue of what score will a creditor use, not which is better or more accurate.

Re: General Credit Score Questions

Hmm..Are there really lenders that use non-FICO scores? I was not aware of that. Any idea which kind and which lender? Obviously, I would try and exploit my TU and maybe even my EX scores.
