Hi all! Need some quick advice. I'm applying for cooperative housing and I need a 650 or better FICO score via TransUnion. My score came back at 642, today. The corporation denied me housing based on the FICO score but gave me 15 days to appeal the decision. Is there any way to raise my score by 8 points within the next 14 days?? THANKS!!
Lower your CC utilization if you have balances.

Short version: I have found that FICO scores are maximized when only one of the credit cards reports a non-zero balance, and that non-zero balance is less than 5% of the limit on that card. In addition, the card should be the one with the highest limit.
How many credit cards do you have? What is the statement balance on each? What is the statement closing date for each?
i have 3 credit cards, one brand new omega cc i used to buy a nice watch. i tried paying it off today but it reported 0 dollars due on the 3,200 (maxed) limit. it wouldnt let me pay. tried to get a rep on the phone and nada -_- other two cards have a lil over a thousand each and the limits are around 2.5-3. ill pay em all off tomorrow, besides the omega which i cant afford to pay in full. you guys think its possible to get that 8 point on my transunion score within these next 14 days???
im not sure how to determine the statement closing date. i just paid off 2 cards in full a few minutes ago, the 3rd (maxed out) balance is 3200...
Maxed out cards are not good. With the 3rd card, being maxed out, IMO I doubt you will see an 8 point increase in that short of time.

Paying down the maxed out card may have given you a bigger boost than paying off the other two.
I have multiple balances on multple cards right now. I just recently payed down a maxed Amex card and saw an 18pt increase just based on that alone!

update
brought two cards down to 0, and the 3rd card, with the largest credit line, to under 5%. i called each creditor and they couldnt provide transunion with any updates until they normally report to them at the end of the month. i called transunion and all they could do for me was dispute the current status of the credit lines, the nature of the dispute being the current balance on each card. hopefully i can get results within a few days !! thanks everyone for your input
