Yay! So happy to report newest EQ is 709!!
This is my highest EQ ever, ever!!
Last was 697. (Previous highest was 700 over 2 yrs ago). Don't have any baddies now, but AAoA (4 yrs) and utilization (36%) are my issues.
I pulled my FICO report after getting the alert, and appears the only diff is utilization going down from 37 to 36%...the result of Old Navy Visa giving me a surprise $800 CLI.
I'm am very focused on paying off debt, so utilization will contine to improve. By my calculations, should reach 5 yrs AAofA in about 4 months. I'll also have 3 cards having 1st birthdays : ON Visa in April, Nationwide in August (the only one of the 3 I actually 'applied' for--the other 2 were an upgrade and a bank change --and for both I was advised would not report as new, but they did) and USBank in October. I hope to get a boost from these also.
I'm hoping this will be my year to be firmly in the 700 club. I'm still counting my EX Fico from 02-09 which was 702, and I'm waiting til April or May to pull TU (after the ON b-day) as I think I'll have a better shot at having crossed the 700 mark with them. I've had TU in low 700s before, and the one time 700 EQ, but I've never had it at the same time, so have never been a real 700 club member.
As my report ages and utilization goes down, my hope is that I'll be able to reach Fico High Achiever status. Makes my heart pound just to think of it!!
Thanks to all that have helped me on my FICO journey..... always encouraging, generously teaching, commiserating, and also celebrating victories big and small. I am grateful!!
Way to go!
I see no reason why you can't soon be a member of the "760" club. ![]()
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Congrats!
That's a super accomplishment!
Thanks so much, Marine and beam! Like I said, "always encouraging..and celebrating the victories".........
I'll be posting back once I truly get in the 700 club, and you better believe I'll be shoutin' from the roof tops when I get my first 760!!!
Way to go! ![]()
I'm right behind you at 689 - crossing my fingers that recent utilization reduction efforts will kick me over the oh -so-close 700 mark.
Thanks, fico!
It sure hit home to me how vital low utilization is to a high score......just 1% decrease and I got 12 points. It was absolutely the only change. I'd just bought my report last week so I had a really recent report to compare this new one to...and the only thing was ON reported my new $3800 limit (up from $3K) which resulted in lower utilization reporting.
My goal is to give myself a high 'score' fiscally, by becoming cc debt free, but getting a high FICO score would be super too!
Post back with your results!!
CONGRATS!!!! EQ is my lowest score. i'm struggling to reach 640 with them but CONGRATS again.
Thanks,gruss!
EQ has always trailed TU and EX for me also....but now it's jumped ahead of them both (bearing in mind that my last EX score was from 2009--just before they made their scores unavilable to consumers).
I've read a lot of posts on this forum that advising that while EQ can be hardest on baddies and utilization, once you have a clean report and low utilization, EQ has the best potential for higher scores.
I'm sure this is a YMMV situation, but I'm thinking it might hold true in my case because of this recent score.
Good luck with your score improvement journey! You've certainly come to the right place for help in that regard. I love this forum!!![]()
Not sure what happened......the above is NOT a post from a newbie jme828.
Somehow I'm showing up with a different name and just 2 posts under that name.
This happened one time last year too (as can be seen from the 08-10 registration date). Never did figure out how it happened then and I'm not sure now, but anyway, the reply above is actually from rom828!!!
