Like the subject says, i had a 30 day late drop of my report, but its less then 4.5 years old, any idea why this would have dropped off? doesent it take 7+ years?
Not necessarily. 7 years is more or less the standard, but there are plenty of examples of negative items getting removed sooner for various reasons. Is this your only negative item, or do you have others? Did it dropping off positively impact your scores at all?
Well last month something dropped off my transunion, but i had several cards report balances, and my score dropped 3 points. Today i had and update report lowering my balance by 1800 dollars and a derog removed from my account, and the score jumped 8 points, so hard to say what caused the bump. Will compare my next 3b on november 15th to my october 15th to pinpoint the actual derog that fell off.
Was it replaced with anything for the month that the late had originally been reporting? Is it gone from all of the bureaus it was reporting to?
It might be gone for good, and then again there is a possibility that it may re-appear down the road until the reporting time frame for it expires.
I can't speak for lates, but I have seen amounts differ on a tradeline across the 3 bureaus, and all had the same status/update date.
Good luck, hopefully it was a gracious act of good will from your creditor
