Re: Help rebuild/ mortgage scores

Yes my TPOD is increasing since the debt is not being paid. Paying it to zero would stop that reporting. Does the TPOD impact scores the same on both a charge off and collection?

@tayloreat713 No! Definitely not. Collections are totally different. But be aware that TPOD increasing does not take a tremendous amount of points every month but continues to suppress your score.

I am in a similar situation. I have gotten 6 collections deleted. I have one more to pay off and then it will be deleted, too. I am paying CO too, because I know lenders like paid CO and zero disputes. I will be applying for a mortgage by September.

That's what I think is happening my score is being suppressed. I'd like to do something so my score can increase, would you suggest I pay the collections or charge of's first? Also, which resource under "scoring wisdom" should I read and follow first?

Don't pay the collections unless each and every one of them can be deleted

Re: Help rebuild/ mortgage scores

Wow! 6 got deleted?!! That's great! My creditors will not accept a pay for

delete. My charge off's are 2 account with Cap1, SEFCU, and PayPal. How did you get your creditors to agree to pay for delete?!

@tayloreat713 Pay the COs and as for the collections if they won't PFD then it's up to you whether or not to settle because unless deleted they likely won't affect your score.

And I would read them in order

Re: Help rebuild/ mortgage scores

Ok so the only mortgage score I don't know is transunion right now after the final update but

Experian 2 is now 688

equifax 5 is now 655

My new goal is now a middle 680 score so I need 25 more points in the next 7 months which I don't think will happen or be a stretch.

Do we think get another credit card will help since I only have one?

Will points be gained from my charge offs not reporting?

@Anonymous You do not want new accounts if you're about to get a mortgage, but another credit card would help increase score. But you can't do that in the run up to a mortgage.

What do you mean the chargeoffs not reporting?
