I'm new. Can someone please help me out. I received an alert that my score had increased to 675.the only alert on Tu that I have is the increase, the one before that was 5/21 increase But never had an alert for decrease, but on the dashboard it says the down arrow with a decrease to 641. Which doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks. I apologize if this is the wrong place for the post
That's wierd, though occasionally something transient and strange happens as TU has multiple systems on the backend and I don't think they're always in sync from the anecdotal reports here.
Back on 5/30 or whatever what was your score at? If it was at the upper one I'd be checking reports, if it was the lower of the two it was probably just a glitch.
Congrats on the score increase. Looks like you are doing things right, you deserve to be excited about it.
If your scores were in the 400's, the baddies are working their way out, as the score increases. While that general increase is occurring, don't be surprised at some big swings, both up and down, until all the baddies are removed / off the reports. There are things going on behind the scenes that we can't see, when baddies are involved, that can cause these score swings.
The new account may have changed utilization metrics, something else may have aged off at the same time, lots of different possibilities.
Use the BofA, Discover, and USAA cards regularly and they will help build your credit history. Avoid getting any more store cards though.
If you can add to the savings that secures the USAA, that can give you more credit limit to work with.
By early 2018 you should be ready to apply for a Capital One again. Hopefully some of the secured cards graduate as well.
