This is fascinating, especially as I continue my own journey toward 800 which I expect to achieve mid next year.

I know your doing this for the personal satisfaction but Is there really a big difference between 760 and 800 as far ascredi worthiness goes ?
I would say, a buffer so you don't have to monitor your credit so much to make sure it stays above 760, and to allow you to apply for a card or loan now and then and not have to worry about recovering.
Other than that...bragging rights?

I am not doing this for personal satisfaction. Check out my first post for the reasons I'm aiming for 800.

The buffer is good. I went for one of those new Diner's Club cards that everyone has been applying for and the inquiry didn't even dent my score - at all. I'll be interested to see if the new account reporting affects it. I had a new auto loan last year that didn't affect my score either, at least with FICO 08 that is.....

One day I will have that kind of buffer. One day ...
I'm waiting impatiently for Score Watch to pick up my Chase credit card's 0 balance. The statement closed on November 16, and Credit Sesame gave me an Experian balance change alert yesterday. I don't know if it is Score Watch or Equifax that is so slow. Can't wait to break into the 770's
On a related note, I'm contemplating buying a house by the end of the year. If this happens, I'm going to have to wait for at least another 6 months to hit 800...
And here it comes. Personal best.
26 more points to go.

Nice bump for a 0 balance!
