I keep getting solicited by Allstate via CK since so have a perfect auto score so I thought I would experiment a little bit. I know Allstate has softed my (now frozen) EX in the past so I wanted to see how much my rates would quote without them pulling a credit score.
$640 deposit and $517 a month. Outrageous.
I pay 78 at Geico lol. In IL.
Dude, that's baffling.
I paid far less than that when I hadn't had insurance, had just financed an Acura TSX V6, and had a major ding on my driving report as well in Cali: not the cheapest car nor place (nor individual) to insure by any stretch of the imagination. I thought my then slightly north of $200 per month was high.
How on earth did they get that price for you? I can understand deterrent pricing but that's just absurd from the sounds of it. Are you certain that wasn't a six month premium?
