How do I monitor my Credit Score

So, 8 months post Chapter 7 BK.

I've been added to a family members credit account as an authorized user to try and help rebuild my credit. Bbaby steps, I know. I have not applied for anything yet, decided to wait for 1 year post Bk before I apply anywhere.

I pulled all 3 FICO socres this month and was wondering, how can I monitor my credit scores? Obviously Credit Karma and the like, are not accurate. Is there a website I can go to and pay a monthly fee to monitor all 3 scores? Maybe one that doesn't cost $60 a month?

Please and Thank you.

As far as monitoring, I use the FICO 3B one here...it's $30 a month, I get all 3 scores, and they monitor several other things such as my Drivers Licence, Passport, and of course alert me whenever an Account is open under my name. It will text you whenever something changes on your score/report.

After the 2nd year on your BK, unsecured cards and a car loan are within your grasp (if you need a car later on)

MyFICO is expensive but not quite that expensive.

Its monitoring products give you frequent updates of FICO 8 and alerts, and quarterly ($30 mo) or monthly ($40 mo) updates of (a) all your FICO scores + (b) your 3 bureau credit reports.

Re: How do I monitor my Credit Score

You have expressed concern over cost.  A good fit for you would be the $1 trial offer at Credit Check Total.  Just enroll and then cancel it after obtaining your three scores and the 3B report.  The trial can be repeated once a month which would be fine given your needs.  Many people buy a $25 VISA debit card at a grocery store to use for their CCT subscriptions so that if they forget to cancel there is no way they can be charged the $30 monthly fee.

I also encourage you to enroll at creditscore.com which will give you a free monthly FICO 8 score and report drawn on Experian data.

Finally Credit Karma pairs very nicely with creditscore.com, since Karma has the other two bureaus (TU and EQ).  You ignore its scores, but it's reports are great.  And in fact, if you pull your Karma scores at the same instant as you pull your FICO scores at CCT, you may find that your Karma scores have a regular pattern of being X points different from your FICO 8 scores (not everyone observes this, but some do).  In that case the Karma scores can save you the trip to CCT every month.
