Oh I see so your score can be penalized for something but not rewarded for another thing ?

It's actually you who are getting the "reward" through the 0% APR during the temporary balance transfer period. Enjoy that, it's real money you are getting / saving.

Why should a cardholder also get a FICO score boost just for the 0% APR? Does this only apply if a new card offer includes a $0 BT Fee and 0% APR?

If someone with a non-new card pays a 3% or 5% fee to get a 0% APR Balance Transfer, does that person get the same FICO score benefit, or it's only a new card, with $0 BT Fee, 0% APR?

How about a Discover BT where there's no fee, but Discover charges 3.99% APR? Do I get a boost for that?

What about a Credit Union card with $0 Cash Advance and a low 7.49% APR? Is that good enough to be included in the FICO boost?

As a FICO Algorithm programmer, where do you draw the line?

Answer: You don't even consider APR in the algorithm.
