One should only dispute information that is not correct!!

Disputing valid inquiries is never a good idea.

Consider this a friendly reminder that discussion of disputing valid information violates the FICO Forums TOS and Credit Repair Discussion Guidelines.
Please read these Guidelines, which are stickied at the top of this forum, before posting anything further about disputing.

Not against the law if the information is inaccurate, outdated, or unverifiable.     The only real issue is when you KNOW that the information is 100% accurate and you dispute it as not being so.

Is "I don't recall exactly......" as valid in law as in Politics?  Smiley Very Happy

To General Credit Topics with the new title of "Inquiries still reporting after 2 years".

Re: How long do they do inquires last?

Not illegal if no knowlingly false representations are made.  Just not a disputable issue.

If the dispute is not based on inaccuracy of reporting by a furnisher, it can be summarily dismissed without investigation as "frivolous or irrelevant" by the CRA, if filed through them, or by the furnisher, if a direct dispute.  Any dispute is required to identify an alleged inaccuracy in reporting, and provide some documentation in support of that allegation.

If filed as a direct dispute and the issues relate to inquiries, such direct disputes are exempted from the direct dispute process, and may thus be summarily dismissed as a non-disputable issue.

Just an improper dispute that requires no investigation or reinvestigation, and marks you as a frivolous disputer.

If GW becomes a path you must walk in the future, the path may have become a bit rockier.
