My FICO was a steady 720 with $100,000 available on credit cards. $15,000 due on cards(paid in full every month), $30,000 total due on car and unsecured Lightstream.
All are current, 0 late payments, 0 credit (till last week)
I changed phone companies and got in an argument with Verizon. I truthfully thought I didn't owe and I wasn't going to pay. Well they thought different and put a collection on me for the $76. My credit score dropped 100 points immediately, I paid the $76 desite not owing it but they would not delete the collection.
How long will it take to get my score back up to where it was. I'm 68 and I wanted to borrow money to help send the grandkids to college. I have some investments but nothing I can cash out of. I was just fixing to float a note and they hit me....kind of shocked me!
