@arkaneWhen my AoYA crossed the 3 month threshold, I gained 10-12 points across all 3 CRAs. So I'd say after 3 months you'll be right back where you started.
Are you certain that there's a "threshold" at 3 months, or are you using that term loosely and just mean the 3 month "mark?"
A threshold suggests a very finite point in time. If you crossed a threshold at 3 months, it would mean 1 day before that your scores were X and 1 day after it your scores were 10-12 points higher. Was that the case? I watched my AoYA cross 3 months several times in the last 2 years and never saw any recognizable score gain at that point in time. I do agree that scores may rise 10-12 points over the course of 3 months or so, but that doesn't suggest the existence of a threshold.
Yes I believe there's some kind of threshold at 3 months, see my thread about it here: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Age-of-Youngest-Account-3-month-threshold...
Perhaps it's profile-specific.
I just pulled up my archived CCT $1 pulls and here are my numbers 1-2 weeks before hitting 3 months AoYA compared to 1-2 weeks after crossing 3 months AoYA. The first set of numbers was on a dirty file, the second set on a clean file:
EX: 0
TU: +6
EQ: 0
EX: +5
TU: +4
EQ: +1
There was roughly a 3 week span between those pulls in both cases. Those numbers to me don't suggest a threshold crossing, but rather just the natural aging of a file. Again, perhaps it's profile-specific and someone else would see more, but from where I stand I can't say that a clear threshold exists for AoYA at 3 months.
