How much of a score drop when BK falls off?

Hello, All!

I only have one baddie left on my TU report: a BK from 2001. It is scheduled to fall off 1/2011. That's less than 10 months away!!!!! (I appreciate all of your help!!) My TU score is in my siggy, but it should at least 20-30 points higher as I PIF several CC accounts reducing my util to 68%, down from 97%. (I know 68% is still high. I am working on it!)

So, let's say that my current TU score is 689. Once the BK drops will I lose points due to rebucketing? Or will I gain points, b/c the BK is gone and I now have  a clean report?

My BK 7 dropped recently. I was stuck on 698 Equifax for over a year. I did everything right. 1 account reporting a small balance yada it just did not matter. BK comes off and my score with a like report that is 1 CC reporting went to 766.

TU was stuck on 737 for well over half a year. I went from 717 up to 737 in about a half year and then it just stuck there. BK comes off and my score with a like report that is 1 CC reporting went to 784.

So your scores do not have to go down. My BK was the oldest account of any kind on my Equifax report.

That's great to hear.  Congrats - and thanks for posting. 

That gives me hope, too.  My EQ is stuck between 700-712 for 9 months, and my TU's just a tad higher.  I'll just keep trying to behave myself and hopefully I'll see similar results to yours when mine fall off.  That's so cool!

When my BK fell off   my EQ went from 698 to 788.

Thanks guys for the info. This makes me feel really good!!! I am really excited now!!!! Can hardly wait until the New Year!! Will be BK-free...and hopefully FICO score-rich!!!!

Wow those were some big jumps!!! did you guys have any other baddies once the BK fell off? Mine is coming off in May 2011 and i cannot wait omg.. But i will still have 3 charge off's (paid) but not IIB either.. at this point i will be content with NO BK and Public record free but still curious how the charge offs will affect any score bump i may get.. I will not be baddie free until 2012

I don't think it very likely you can get scores that high with a dirty report. I mean it is possible but very unlikely.
