How to Find Specific Cause of Credit Score Drop

My Experian score dropped 20 points this weekend.

I have a paid 'CreditCheckTotal.com' account (which I believe is Experiean owned?).

So I can find several references that the decrease happened, but none of those sources lead to any kind of cause or explanation.

Maddening.

I will call when they open, but is it me or is finding out such infor darn near impossible for the average consumer?

Use a free report monitoring site like WalletHub not for their useless score but for their daily report refreshing. Different bureau but chances are you’ll see what changed.

I bet you had a utilization change on a credit card that passed a high threshold percentage.

I think you are refi'ing a mortgage at this time? Did they pull your reports yet?  I have had a Hard Pull drop my score 14 points. Add the usual 10 point utilization fluctuation I get from letting balances report and that would do it.
