How to Increase Score With Chase Slate?

I was recently approved for the Chase Slate with a $500 limit. I’m not even going to try and increase my limit because Chase is silly, and am just going to garden for 6 months or so until my score is high enough for the Chase Freedom or some other rewards card.

I have one other open card, the Chase Platinum with a $3k limit, that is currently “restricted” because I had enrolled in a debt management plan. It may reopen in Jan, it may not. Either way, UTI is at 0% and I can’t use it. Which is fine.

How should I play my cards with the Slate? PIF every month? Leave a <$50 balance? I only have the option to PIF or make the minimum payment online, but I’m sure I can call and pay whatever amount i want.

My scores are 595-610, so I’m gardening this until I’m above 650.

Let a $10 balance report on that card every month and keep it there until you obtain more cards. You need 3 open to drive Fico score and you want one reporting a small balance at all times, less than 9% of its CL. Welcome to the board Smiley Happy
