Re: How to increase my score ASAP??

I'm not llecs, but any scores that you would get with your free reports would be FAKO's, not FICO's.

Here's where you can buy your FICO scores, which are the ones that lenders use:

Equifax: myFICO.com and equifax.com (make sure that you're clicking a link for the FICO score)

TransUnion: myFICO.com and transunioncs.com (note the cs --the regular site will sell you a FAKO. Again, make sure that you're clicking a link for the FICO score.)

Experian: nowhere. As of 2/13/2009, consumers cannot buy their EX FICO anywhere. A small, hard-to-get-into Pennsylvania credit union offers it; HSBC Sears/K-Mart card offers it; and you can get it if you apply for a mortgage. But you can't buy it.

For the Gap and Bloomie's accounts, what exactly do they say? (how late, whether charged off, sent to collections, dates, etc etc)

* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007

Re: How to increase my score ASAP??

Thanks Mod... For Gap: Never late because never used the card. But I closed the account. And for Bloomies I was about 90-120 days late because I didn't know the account existed. It doesn't tell me if it's charged off or not. Already exited out of AnnualCreditReport.com. This service is only good for once an year right? Means I can't go back in anymore.

Don't touch your Gap account. Based on what you said, it is reporting normally and OK. It is only helping your score.

Bloomies VISA could be rehabbed, for a lack of a better term. Since this account is closed and paid at $0, send them a GW letter asking them to remove any lates listed within the account. Bloomingdales, as reported by others, seems friendly and helpful. Explain to them what happened and keep it short.

You can log back into ACR to view your reports again. I think you had to create log-in info at the time of viewing. Personally, I would recommend you get a credit monitoring services. This way you can see your report anytime and see changes as they occur, rather than pulling only once a year via ACR.

Good luck!

What is negative about the Gap account? If it was never late and you never used it, then it isn't a CO and should be reporting as a closed account. When sending GWs (you could try calling too) send the GWs to the address listed on your CR. If your lender is pulling new reports, then that info should be on there.

Re: How to increase my score ASAP??

I know for a fact it can take as little as 30 days for the credit bureaus to edit your report after a dispute.  Most credit bureaus are sure to issue an entry before the end of the month that you submitted the dispute if they receive your request at the beginning of the month.  I got my scores up more than 40 points within 45 days just by disputing derogatory entries that were incorrect, beyond 7 years and even correcting entries that said charge-off but were paid in full.  It can be done, just keep on the creditor that created the entry, and document everything you do and every person you speak to or write to.  It's very easy when you mail your disputes or fax them with the supporting documentation that the accounts were brought up to date rather than the credit bureau having to contact your creditor for the information.  Best wishes to you.  My efforts paid off for me and allowed me to purchase my first home.

Re: How to increase my score ASAP??

Disputing is AOK if reporting as inaccurate, but it is being reported over in the mortgage board that some lenders are now opting to reject a loan if they see any reference that an account is in dispute.

IMO, if inaccurate, a dispute should be the means of last resort. It is too easy for an inaccurate account to get verified.

Re: How to increase my score ASAP??

Thanks for the luck guys, but appearantly I don't have any luck. My bank lender just got back to me for the credit score nad it's still the same as the first time. Who should I contact now? I need to dispute those 2 negative accounts, but I have no access to annualcreditreporst.com anymore. Do I call Transunion, Experian, and Equifax? What else is needed to be done to get my score back up? I am really confused here about the steps, who to contact..etc. Once again please help.

I forgot to mention that both of my negative accounts has $0 balance.
