I do not get credit scoring

Just for an example, me.

I have 8 open accounts in good standing, 2 collections (2 fell off last month), and 3 CO. The newest CO is a little over a year old. My oldest account is 5 years old, though they are showing I have no history. According to EQ my oldest account is from Midland opened in N/A. I have not had a late payment in over a year. My credit scores are pretty dismal. Ranging from 485 to 570.

My daughter has 6 items on her credit report, all are negative. The newest one is a year old. Her scores range from 580 to 615. She gets credit and never makes one payment.

How is this? What makes it worse is I am trying to get my scores up and she seems not to care. Yet, her scores are higher.

Re: I do not get credit scoring

One part of it is that she is in a different bucket and she might be "better" than those she is compared to.

Is Midland listed under the collections or regular TL? It shouldn't be counting in age. However, if you are saying on EQ website it says it is your oldest account, ignore that.

Do you have revolving? How many? How many have balances? What is your total and individual util?

Would you like this moved over to Understanding FICO Scoring, the regular posters over there might be able to offer more/better advice.

Re: I do not get credit scoring

Thanks. Yes, you can move it, though I was really ranting. It is just when I see that people have tons of negative stuff on their reports with much higher scores than mine, it makes me wonder what I am doing wrong.

Midland is listed with the regular tradelines, but says collections at the bottom. It is not counted as one of the collections I have. When I look under collections it is not there.

I have 4 revolving accounts, all in good standing but my utilization is 61%. I just got approved for 2 more CC with a total of 500 CL. Not much but it should help. I also have a CJ that I have never used so it is not listed at all.

Re: I do not get credit scoring

Buy something inexpensive from CJ so you can have it report and then pay it off.
