I don't understand..only 5 pt increase

I paid off over 2300 in revolving cc debt and ALL my balances are reporting 0 now except one cc that I left 84 dollars on just to report some utilization. My utilization has gone from 50% to 1% and my score only increased 5 pts....Why? I expected such a better increase! It says my payment history is good, debt load excellent, length of credit poor (which I don't udnersand I have stuff reporting back from 1997 and 2000 such as cc's, auto loan, and student loans. uggggg

Are all of those cards you paid off still listed as "open"?

How many CCs do you have?

Are you basing this on a FAKO score? FICO doesn't use "excellent" or "poor", but TC does. Had to be asked...

Did you app for any new credit or have any new credit to give a bad mark on history?

Re: I don't understand..only 5 pt increase

Let me try to answer all those questions I didn't apply for ANY new credit in the last year. I have 4 credit cards. A orchard bank Master card I opened up 3 years ago with a limit of 720, 0 balance and still open. I have the home depot and Best buy cards, both with credit limit of 2500 both have zero balances and paid to 0. Then I have a citi master card, credit limit 2000 and an 85 dollar balance. NO late payments on ANY of these cards.

I checked my EX and TU credit scores here. It just has a section for explanation of credit report/score and I checked my EXP report from another site.

Was it EQ that increased only 5 points or TU? And is based on your 7/2 report? Are all of the balances updated on the new report?

No it was my 7/27 report (i check a lot because we are getting ready to apply for a mortgage and I am/was waiting for the scores to rebound. I did find out some collections were added and now I am checking to make sure they are removed as I sent proof to the bureaus that they were paid to the original creditor and that it was a mistake!
