Impact of foreign debt on US credit score

I am currently living in the UK, having moved from the US last year.  I maintain an address in the US and credit cards so I keeping track of my US credit score.  My question is if I take out an installment loan in the UK will it have an impact on my US credit score.

Thanks!

Re: Impact of foreign debt on US credit score

Welcome to the board.  If you take out a loan in the UK, it won't impact your credit score here in the U.S.  There is no correlation between the two.

Interesting thread. When I read the title, I thought it was a political statement on the amount of debt the United States has incurred. Yes, the countries UTI percent is way too high! Lol

Foreign creditors do not have credit reporting agreements with the U.S. divisions of the credit reporting agencies, and thus it wont be entered into your U.S. credit file and accordingly wont be included in your scoring.
